British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
Joshua had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
