Dominant Aryna Sabalenka Secures Consecutive WTA Top Player Honors.

Aryna Sabalenka in action
Aryna Sabalenka finished the tour with an outstanding twenty-three to three Grand Slam match record.

The top-ranked player Aryna Sabalenka has been chosen the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second successive year.

The 27-year-old captured four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – which included successfully defending the US Open this past September versus Amanda Anisimova to claim her fourth Grand Slam singles championship.

A Year of Dominance

Over the course of the tour, Sabalenka reached a circuit-leading nine championship matches, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final at the start of the year and Coco Gauff in June's French Open final.

The Belarusian also triumphed at the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open during the spring, and the Madrid Open as the clay season progressed. She remained the whole season as the world number one, ending 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.

In July, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams in 2015.

Record-Breaking Numbers

Sabalenka ended the competitive year with a 63-12 match record, and earned a record £11m in prize money.

She garnered nearly 80% of the votes submitted by global tennis journalists.

Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios in a high-profile mixed-gender exhibition match in a bid to "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".
