Palestinian-American Youth Liberated Following 270 Days in Israel's Imprisonment

A Palestinian-American youth having endured a nine-month period in Israel's custody without charge was released.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim had just turned 15 during his detention this past winter within the occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing while residing in Florida under suspicion of rock throwing toward Israeli settlers, allegations he repeatedly contested.

United States authorities expressed satisfaction with the teenager's freedom.

Now sixteen years old, needed medical care upon gaining freedom, family members reported.

According to them, he appears pale, underweight, and experiencing medical problems contracted in captivity.

In a statement, the youth's uncle spoke of the family's "immense relief".

Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" throughout the past nine months.

"At this moment, we are focused on getting Mohammed urgent medical care necessary for his recovery after being subjected to Israel's abuse and cruel circumstances for months."

American authorities stated they would maintain to provide consular support to the teenager's relatives.

{"American leadership considers paramount to the protection and welfare for United States citizens"," the department emphasized.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers submitted a formal letter to diplomatic officials and the administration, urging greater action for his freedom.

Mr Ibrahim, parent of four children who runs an ice cream business based in Tampa, previously claimed his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing after being assaulted by soldiers.

He had not seen or spoken to Mohammed since February, and only heard about his son's condition in detention through court documents.

He stayed lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.

It is also home to mature inmates, including individuals found guilty for major terrorist activities and homicide.

There are around 350 Palestinian minors in security custody currently imprisoned in Israel, based on prison authority data.

Numerous remain uncharged while advocacy organizations, and international organizations, report instances of mistreatment and torture.

After the teenager's freedom, the uncle stated relatives would persist in advocating for justice for his cousin their cousin Sayfollah.

This young American-Palestinian who the Palestinian health ministry said died from beating by Israeli settlers during a confrontation in July.

At the time, the Israeli military said authorities were looking into information regarding a civilian had died.

The two cousins had worked together at their family's ice cream business in Tampa, Florida.

No one has been charged with Sayfollah's killing.

"We demand United States leadership to protect our families," the uncle stated.
