Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window

A jet carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an official statement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.

"The plane touched down based on established safety measures and everyone onboard, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," an official representative said in a social media post.

He was traveling back from a quick journey to the city of Brussels at the time.

This incident is not the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a top government figure has suffered mechanical issues.

In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was forced to return to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical fault.
